Some of the most renowned artists in hip-hop got a chance to shine at the Third Annual Dirty Awards. Held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, the event sponsored by Radio One proved, again, to be the crunkest awards show on earth.
Attendees at the event, which was hosted by Free and comedian Nard, witnessed rousing performances from Rick Ross, Plies, Yung Joc, Canton Jones, Shawty Lo and T-Pain. This year’s big winners included Plies (Best New Dirty); Polow Da Don (Producer of the Year); and Bun B, who took home the Living Legend Award.
Artists such as Beanie Sigel, Freeway, Playaz Circle, Cherish, Cee-Lo, Lloyd, Bobby Valentino, 8 Ball and Soulja Boy graced the red carpet with elaborate outfits and bodacious sound bites. Members of Grand Hustle also arrived en masse to show resilience as their troubled CEO (T.I.) remains under house arrest. - amir shaw
