On October 27, Radio One hosted their annual Shoes For Shorties drive at Northland Mall. Celebrities and donors alike turned out in impressive numbers to show their kindness by donating shoes and money to help underprivileged children stay warm this winter.

Corey Blake (aka Bombshell) donated $5,000 in cash, Twista donated 20 pairs of brand-new Jordans, and Trick Trick purchased new gym shoes for five lucky audience members.

"As soon as I heard about it being a charity drive and [that they were] giving away shoes, I immediately wanted to be a part of it because that's something I do within my own community," Twista stated. "Anything that [I] really feel strong about, I'm definitely going to be a part of [it], because I'm a passionate brother when it comes to things in society today and our black people needing help."

The event featured special performances from Gorilla Zoe, Hurricane Chris, Hyrdro, Kelz, Lady Tee, Tiffany Evans, and Trick Trick with special guest appearances from Twista and Ray Ray. -janaya black
