amazing women leading the way
The nouveau-chic Hotel Derek, in Houston’s Galleria area, provided the backdrop for rolling out urbanstyle weekly’s second annual Top 25 Most Influential Women of Houston. Hard work, sacrifice and perseverance are just a few of the attributes that describe the dynamic divas. Honorees consisted of civic and cultural trailblazers, entrepreneurs and corporate executives, who have significantly impacted scores of Houston area residents as well as people throughout the country. From million-dollar album sales to million-dollar fundraisers to million-dollar operating budgets, these women control an undeniably large slice of the business and cultural pie. The “Top 25” don’t do what they do for the praise; they do it because, to paraphrase the late Congresswoman Shirley Chisolm, service is the rent that we pay to live in this world. rolling out was proud to honor these unsung heroes for all of their hard work in our community. –kim floyd
