The historic financial district of New York City played host to the Chase Legacy of Homeownership Tour this past Saturday. The four-city national tour ended at One Chase Manhattan Plaza, after stops in Atlanta, Houston and Chicago. With the theme, "Own your home. Own your legacy," this year's event provided workshops, one-on-one consultation with mortgage experts and preapproved loans for potential and current African American homeowners. After the morning workshops, best-selling financial author and keynote speaker Lynette Khalfani provided attendees with advice on ways to eliminate debt and attain financial security through homeownership, and also signed copies of her book, Zero Debt. Audience members left the event educated and confident in their ability to become homeowners and provide better futures for younger generations to come. - gavin philip godfrey
