When Target® and über-MC Common throw the party, it's guaranteed to have the best and brightest in attendance. The stars were out on Sunset Blvd. to support rapper/actor Common's latest release, Finding Forever. Partying at Sunset One, the guest list included tennis superstar Serena Williams; actress Tracee Ellis Ross; comedian Chris Rock; director Kevin Smith and, of course, super-producer/rapper (and Common compatriot) Kanye West, who were all there to show the Chicago rapper some love. "Anytime a corporation as big as Target shows a rapper who some may consider [underground] some love, it's a wonderful thing," said Common. Target's VP of marketing, Greg Cunningham, and the Target® team made sure everything went off without a hitch, and the entire block was abuzz. "He's a real MC and he deserves every bit of props that he's getting," said producer/drummer ?uestlove of The Roots.
Actor Rockmond Dunbar probably summed up the Target/Common connection best: "It just makes common sense," he said, before pausing to laugh. "Did I just do that?" - todd williams
