On why people will enjoy the film …
I think it’s a great, ‘different’ film. This film gives audiences something that they probably don’t want to see, since it’s not a happily ever after story. It’s drenched more in reality than typical love stories. Most of the time, you have stories where the characters get with their one true love and ride off into the sunset … you won’t find that with this film.
On why it was natural for her to create this project …
I’m an actress, and I don’t like to wait around to be allowed to act. But then, when opportunities were coming along, I wasn’t very happy with the roles. So I started writing for myself. Once Eric [Byler] saw what I was working on, he came aboard and we started writing together. As far as the character that I play, I’ve always wanted to create a female character that was different than most women that you see. We as women have so many complexities, and little things that we go through. I was intent [on creating] a woman and a movie that wasn’t two-dimension[al]. –dewayne rogers
