gospel dream 2008
preview
Dreams do come true. As the Gospel Music Channel gears up for its third season of the awe-inspiring and heartwarming “Gospel Dream 2008,” thousands of hopefuls are banking on that phrase applying to them. As gospel music’s version of “American Idol,” the show provides Christian artists an outlet to share their love for praise and worship through song, with the rest of the world.
“Gospel Dream 2008” is the only music reality competition on television that celebrates aspiring artists who desire to inspire, as well as to entertain,” states Charles Humbard, founder and president of the Gospel Music Channel. “The show connected with our viewers in the first two seasons, and the 2008 competition promises to be even more compelling and will be seen by even more viewers, thanks to our tremendous growth in distribution.”
Contest judge Ron Grant views the show as an opportunity for him to learn and grow with the contestants. “I never want to be looked at as a Paula, Randy, or Simon type of judge,” he reveals when responding to inquiries about his judging style. “I have been fortunate enough to establish myself as a respected assessor of talent, so instead of just bashing a person and telling them that they’re no good, I work to give them practical advice, and a positive outlook for their career. To me, that’s what this show is all about … providing hope that dreams can come true.” –dewayne rogers
