A3C hip-hop festival
shoulda been there
The All 3 Coast Festival (A3C), which started four years ago as an underground hip-hop festival, has since blossomed into a premier event for music lovers nationwide. If you missed it, this year’s showcase was the biggest and most memorable to date. The festival opened with Wale, Jeru the Damaja, Del the Funky Homosapien and Little Brother, and backpackers, thugs and hipsters alike found themselves packed nearly shoulder-to-shoulder into Center Stage at the CW Complex.
Closing out the weekend was the historic Juice Crew reunion sans Big Daddy Kane on Saturday and a crowd moving, riot-inducing performance by the Clipse and their Re-Up gang outfit on Sunday night. After their biggest weekend since the festival’s inception, the folks over at A3C should expect a bigger crowd and even bigger set list next year. Hip-hop is not dead! –gavin philip godfrey
