five reasons to buy car insurance
advertorial
Why don’t more people have car insurance?
It’s a valid question, although by the looks of this prim and proper, well-manicured mother of three, it became apparent that she’d never suffered any of the financial challenges that prohibit many Americans from maintaining adequate auto insurance. Times are hard, and I must admit that occasionally, I too, have been guilty of choosing the lesser of two evils when faced with a tough financial decision.
“Should I let my cell phone be disconnected or should I just let my car insurance lapse?”
I have always chosen the latter. But today is a new day, and I’m thoroughly convinced that you should never drive a day without your car being insured. I’m so sure, that I even came up with the title “Five Reasons to Buy Car Insurance.”
1. Here’s a hit for your conscience. If you have an accident that’s your fault, you are in effect leaving a victim potentially vulnerable and without the medical care that they’re entitled to through your insurer. (Try sleeping on that one.)
2. No matter how you try to spin it, driving without insurance is illegal.
3. Let’s say you get hit by an uninsured driver. Not only will you get a citation for driving illegally, but the total cost of the repairs and your medical coverage falls squarely on your back.
4. What if you start dating a girl who lives on the “rough side” of town. You try to go and spend some quality time with her, and lo and behold, your car gets stolen. What are your options? With no insurance, you only have one, and that’s to pay for a new car out of your own pocket since you don’t have the safety net that’s provided by car insurance.
5. My brother had the unfortunate experience of getting pulled over without insurance, and his license was suspended. What was the lesson learned? It’s difficult to pick up women while riding the bus. –dewayne rogers
