On an exceptionally cold Sunday morning, hundreds of supporters gathered for the American Diabetes Association’s fourth annual fundraiser Care to Cure: A Sunday Brunch, which was held at Soldier Field’s plush Cadillac Club.
This year’s honorary chairs were Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith and his beautiful wife, MaryAnne. The mistress of ceremony was WGN-TV news co-anchor Robin Baumgarten.
Through Care to Cure: A Sunday Brunch, the ADA has raised nearly $550,000 for educational programs, advocacy efforts and research for a cure.
According to the ADA, every 21 seconds someone is diagnosed with diabetes. Currently, nearly 21 million people have diabetes in the United States. Care to Cure: A Sunday Brunch is one of the many events helping the ADA meet its mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. –tony binns
