An elegant crowd gathered in downtown Chicago, at the International Ballroom of the Hilton, to honor the many Chicago professional teams that have captured the hearts of fans around the city, all while making valuable contributions to communities in Chicago. With radio legend Steve Dahl of WJMK-FM 104.3, former Chicago Bull Joe Smith and Jim Thome of the White Sox on hand enjoying the festivities, the night was truly one to remember.

The 20th Annual Comcast SportsNet Sports Awards dinner donated all of the evening’s proceeds to the March of Dimes and gave Chicagoland’s brightest sports stars a boost for the good work that they do. At a time when athlete’s misdeeds make for bigger headlines than their good work, it was indeed a welcome event. -dusty culpepper
