Young Jeezy and friends gathered at Justin’s Restaurant on Feb. 26, 2008, for a charitable event during which Davon “Speedy” Jenkins, winner of Jeezy’s Make Your Dreams Come True contest, was presented with a wheelchair-accessible Dodge Caravan. Jenkins’ mother, Tamara Jenkins-Wilson, wrote a heartfelt essay regarding her disabled son, who has cerebral palsy, and her husband, an American soldier possibly facing a second tour of duty in Iraq. The family was flown to Atlanta from their North Carolina home to be honored by Jeezy and the CTE family for this special occasion. “I’ve got good morals. At the end of the day, when you do something for people who are less fortunate it just makes you feel better about yourself, especially when you’re representing what you have to say,” said Jeezy. –jason thompson
