Love him or hate him, Akon is not going anywhere. ‘Kon, along with protégé T-Pain was nominated for four Grammys by the committee at this years 50th Annual Grammy Awards, which were held Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008, in Los Angeles. Hosted by SRC Records chairman Steve Rifkind and Upfront/Konvict CEO Devyne Stephens at De Beers on Beverly Hill’s posh Rodeo Drive, guests from Tyrese to Bai Ling, came out to show love for Akon and his Kovict Muzik movement.

“It’s a great feeling, just being recognized by the Grammy committee — to me that was enough,” says AKon, who lost the award for Best Contemporary R&B Album to Ne-Yo’s Because of You. –gavin philip godfrey
