EMI Gospel artists and friends gathered during the Stellar Awards festivities in Nashville, Tenn., for the EMI Gospel brunch, New Music on the Horizon. EMI Gospel President Ken Pennel and Billboard officials gave special recognition to gospel great Donald Lawrence. Having produced four of the five top gospel songs on the Billboard charts in 2007, Lawrence is the first individual to accomplish such a feat in any musical genre. Gospel’s greatest including the Clark Sisters, Richard Smallwood, Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, DeWayne Woods and Sheri Jones-Moffett paid tribute to Lawrence for his diligence, professionalism and mentorship in the music business. – jessica johnson
