Who says that comedians can’t make dreams come true? King of Comedy and nationally syndicated radio personality Steve Harvey is hosting Disney’s Dreamers Academy. The academy is an innovative program designed to introduce 100 lucky high school students from around the country to creative careers.

JaQuez Walker, a Chicago-area student, was selected from a pool of 3,000 dreamers. He earned the once in a lifetime opportunity based on his desire to stay in school and his devotion to family, while caring for his grandmother and great grandmother. “The experience of going to Disney will help him put his dreams into motion,” shares Charmaine Walker, JaQuez’s mother.

Students will engage in interactive workshops Jan. 17–20, 2008, at the Magic Kingdom campus at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando. Workshops will focus on architecture, culinary arts and engineering. –yvette caslin
