With new games costing 60 bucks, I can understand all of these questions, but I'm going to simplify things for you.

Forget about graphics, sound and all that stuff. Most sport video games today all look pretty good. So what should the deciding factor be? Simply, which game is the most fun to play. Using this criteria, NBA 2K8 wins hands down. Excellent AI challenges you everywhere you turn. Leave the lane unprotected and you'll get burned. Star players perform just like their real-life counterparts. Additional features include a slam dunk contest and a co-op mode option that lets two users play on the same team against the AI.

It's easy to see that this is the game you'll be coming back to again and again. If you're into management, the Association is the deepest career mode in any basketball video game. Here you can be the general manager, signing free agents, hiring coaches or finding new talent in the draft.
