The 26th annual Atlanta Journal-Constitution International Auto Show provided a sneak preview of the exciting cars that will be released in 2009. In this week’s edition of ro rides, we highlight the top concept cars from the show.

2009 Dodge Challenger

Car enthusiasts have anticipated the release of the Dodge Challenger concept for nearly three years. At this year’s AJC International Auto Show, the Challenger premiered as a must-see vehicle. It comes equipped with a 6.1-liter Hemi engine that produces 425-hp and 420 pound-feet of torque. Dodge also did a good job of giving the Challenger a retro feel by making it 197.8 inches long and giving it a vintage grille that was partially inspired by the 1970 Dodge Challenger.

2009 Lincoln MTK

Who knew that a concept car could be so luxurious and environmentally friendly? The Lincoln MTK concept uses innovative plastic materials to make its energy absorbers, body panels and wire bundles. In turn, the plastic materials reduce energy consumption and the overall carbon output of the MTK. It also has an EcoBoost engine that allows the 3.5 liter V6 to be more fuel efficient.

2009 Jeep Trailhawk

The AJC Auto Show also featured a few concept cars that are built especially for those who enjoy the outdoors. The Jeep Trailhawk is destined to be a vehicle for the sophisticated outdoorsman. Its angular design is reminiscent of the Grand Cherokee, but its rugged off-road capabilities seem to be based on the Wrangler. The Trailhawk can seat four-passengers and features a 3.0 liter Bluetec engine that produces 215-hp and 376 pound-feet of torque.
