1978 Cadillac Coupe DeVille vs. 2008 Cadillac DeVille DTS

1978 Cadillac Coupe DeVille: The 1978 Cadillac Coupe DeVille shined in the era of big-body sedans. It featured Cadillac’s signature bold checkerboard style grille, a wreath-and-crest ornament on the hood, and slim vertical tail lamps. Equipped with a 425 V8 engine, the Coupe DeVille packed enough punch to produce 320 pound-feet of torque. It remains a favorite among drivers with a fondness for classic cars.

2008 Cadillac DeVille DTS: In the last 30 years, the DeVille has undergone a massive facelift. It’s noticeably more compact than the 1978 model and it has special amenities which include leather seating, OnStar, bi-xenon headlamps and remote vehicle start. However, the most impressive feature on the 2008 DeVille is the Night Vision technology that produces an infrared video image which allows the driver to get an enhanced view of the road at night. The DeVille continues to flex its muscle with a 4.6-liter V8 engine that reaches 60 mph in 7 seconds.

1978 Corvette vs. 2008 Corvette

1978 Corvette: In 1978, Chevrolet celebrated Corvette’s 25th anniversary by adding a fastback rear, a 25th anniversary emblem and redesigning the interior to give passengers more leg room. The Corvette’s fuel economy also increased from 17 miles per gallon to 24 miles per gallon. Under the hood, an L82 engine allowed it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds. The 1978 corvette ushered in a new era of sports cars.

2008 Corvette: Thirty-five years have past since Corvette celebrated its silver anniversary and it continues to deliver with the 2008 model. The addition of hand stitched leather by Draexlmaier gives the sports car a more luxurious feel. Although it has progressed in style, the 2008 Corvette remains a top-notch speed machine. It has a top speed of 190 mph and can go from 0 to 60 mph in only 4.3 seconds.

1978 Chevrolet Impala vs. 2008 Chevrolet Impala

1978 Chevrolet Impala: The death of large sedans began in 1978. Impala decided to present a downsized version of the Impala to appeal to consumers who were looking to purchase lighter cars with better fuel efficiency. It still packed a powerful punch on the road, however. The 1978 Impala featured a 350 V8 engine that produced 170-hp.

2008 Chevrolet Impala: Impala remains a top choice for a new generation of car enthusiasts. The 2008 Impala includes heated leather bucket seats, 18-inch alloy wheels, and dual-zone climate control. A 5.3-liter V8 engine produces an astonishing 303-hp and 323 pound-feet of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 6.4 seconds.
