Rapper/Producer, “Isolated”
Sir Real is no stranger to the Atlanta music scene. First as a member of the hip-hop group Loktyte and now as one of the city’s most promising solo talents, the man born Philip Nady has been performing as long as he can remember.
“As early as 3 years old, I would dance like Michael Jackson for [my] family and my parents’ friends,” he recalls. “I remember the positive reaction I received from doing something I loved to do, and I wanted to continue receiving that adoration for the rest of my life.”
Sir Real’s influences range from hip-hop icons like 2Pac and LL Cool J, to funk-rock pioneers, the Red Hot Chili Peppers to soul legends like Stevie Wonder. “I’m inspired by everything — rock ‘n’ roll, old-school R&B, classical — but my first love is hip-hop,” he says, adding that he hopes listeners will feel the passion he tries to deliver through his music. “I want people to [know] that they’re listening to a genuine person who believes in what he’s saying.”
Sir Real’s single “Isolated” has been generating considerable buzz online and in the streets. And the kinetic performer is just getting started. “I’ve learned the music business is a hard profession to survive in,” he says. “[But] hard work pays off and if you believe in yourself, so will everyone else. We’re all connected.”
