Recording Artist
Buoyed by the success of his first single, “So Fly” featuring Yung Joc and Shawty Lo, Slim, formerly of the platinum-selling group 112, is embarking upon a solo career that promises to be just as fruitful as his career with 112. –dewayne rogers
On the decision to complete a solo project …
It was the right time to do it. I have my own label, M3 Productions ... and I wanted to do things Frank Sinatra-style, so this project is being done ‘my way.’ I got my boys Shawty Lo and Yung Joc to jump on this first single with me, and I’m just grateful for all the love that is being shown for what I’m doing.
On the current state of R&B ...
I’m actually excited about where R&B music is right now. We had taken a backseat for a while, but now we are back to the forefront, and are relevant again. I’m proud of the guys that are out here doing their thing, and there is a lot of good music out here right now. Now it’s time for me to add my own piece to that puzzle.
On why people should buy this album …
You should buy this album because you’ll never grow tired of it. Some people make albums for the moment, but I believe this project is one that will be played 20-30 years down the line. That’s how much I believe in it. The music is timeless.
