Executive Producer, College Road Trip
Raven-Symoné Pearman is not a little girl anymore. Sure, she still has that intoxicating smile and magnetic personality that we first glimpsed in her Olivia Kendall days on “The Cosby Show,” but at 22, the Atlanta native is more budding mogul than accomplished child star.
Raven-Symoné has been called “The $400 Million Woman,” thanks to her “That’s So Raven” empire, and with her latest major motion picture, Disney’s College Road Trip, she’s added “executive producer” to her résumé. Could she be the next Oprah? “I mean I’m not going to say ‘no,’ ” she says. “I’m working towards that, so you know hopefully that will come true because that is definitely one of my dreams.”
Along with acting and producing, Raven-Symoné’s headed on a nationwide concert tour promoting her most recent self-titled disc. Though some would say her foray into the world of music pales in comparison to her astronomically successful television and film career, she’s not trying to hear it. “I’m not going to stop just because you don’t buy an album,” she says. “I’m going to just keeping giving it to you and one day you’ll catch on.”
In the face of detractors and tabloid rumors, Raven-Symoné stays grounded in reality by following the advice of comedic legends she’s worked with.
“[They taught me] respect and professionalism, and to really understand that you’re blessed to be in this position and to never take it for granted because is it can be gone at any time,” she says.
