Rapper, Prelude to Madness

It takes a special woman to achieve widespread acceptance in hip-hop. Although artists such as Salt-N-Pepa, Lil Kim and Foxy Brown have all experienced success, most female rappers have found that the music industry can be a hard nut to crack. Hailing from Atlanta, Nasaya believes that she has the voice and lyrics to earn respect in hip-hop.

“I’m not a puppet like a lot of other female rappers,” Nasaya says. “You have to look at the fact that I write my own rhymes and I try to come with the right balance. Some females are too sexy and others aren’t sexy enough. Finding a middle ground sets me apart.”

Nasaya has recently released the mixtape Prelude to Madness. On the 20-cut mixtape, Nasaya proves that she can be rugged, sexy, thought-provoking and down to business. “I recently started Ebony Royal Entertainment,” she says. “I realized that no one was going to give me anything, I had to go and get it myself. I’m selling my own mixtapes and will soon release my debut album.”

Nasaya has yet to release her debut album, but she is already looking beyond her tenure in rap. “My goal is to go beyond hip-hop,” she says. “I don’t want to rap at 40 years old. I’ve experienced a lot of love and people respect what I do. But I’m looking forward to opening other businesses and starting a homeless foundation. Hip-hop is providing a beginning.” ”amir shaw
