Author, Concealed Deception
Debra Williamson is a brilliant portrayal of the American dream; a successful entrepreneur, a strong contender for Dekalb County Commissioner, an author of several books and a devoted mother. Her journey from crippling abuse to triumph that is captured in her gripping autobiography, Concealed Deception, takes readers on a roller-coaster ride of emotions.
“A lot of people will call me laughing when they start reading and say, ‘This is really funny.’ I just say, ‘Keep reading.’ The book kind of starts out as a comedy, beginning with abuse in my childhood and goes into how it repeated in my marriage. I didn’t go into my marriage believing that I was marrying an abuser,” explains Williamson. “Looking back, I can see the signs of jealousy. At the time, I just thought they were indications that I was valued.”
In Concealed Deception, Williamson boldly reveals her experiences, from being imprisoned and isolated in her marriage to her rise as a prominent entrepreneur in Atlanta.
“I wrote this book as a motivational tool for women and [I] am doing a lot of seminars and speeches, encouraging women to get out of those unhealthy relationships,” says Williamson. “They only go one way — down. You don’t have to stay where you are.”
Concealed Deception is being considered by Hollywood to bring Williamson’s electrifying story to the silver screen.
