Artist Toby McCraw was able to find his true calling in life at a young age. Raised in an eclectic environment, McCraw was taught to appreciate and respect the beauty of art. Years later, he shows gratitude to his mother for raising him in an environment filled with culture and art.

“ ‘You can break anything in the house,’ ” the well-traveled artist recalls hearing his mother say. “ ‘Just don’t break the old albums or artwork; some things are impossible to replace.’ ” Following this desire to treasure great works, three years ago, McCraw opened his first art gallery, EB5 (Everybody Feels the International Vibe Experience). Remaining true to its name, McCraw ensures that guests visiting the gallery enjoy a homelike feeling, complete with plush seating, sweet aromas and warm lighting. He also gives them a trip around the world, displaying art from every part of the globe. Further, guests are exposed to exotic wines and tea from almost every continent. Due to these innovative complements, EB5 has become one of the longest running poetry venues in the area, offering a unique environment for artists to display and sell their work.

“My gallery creates a positive exchange of energy,” shares McCraw, who published his first book, T’Mculus’ Soul Presents The Anthology of Poetry from the Archives of Toby McCraw, in 2007. –camryn barganier
