Young people must engage and get involved with taking control in America. This is the first time that the Democrats have two great choices to take over the presidential office. If we didn’t have Barack Obama as a candidate and we just had Hillary Clinton, we would be straight. And if we didn’t have Hillary and we only had Obama, we would be OK with that too. The choices are hard. But it all boils down to who inspires you to be a better person.
We need someone who can inspire us to be good American citizens. If we have a lot of good American citizens, we will have a better America. That’s why I’m voting for Barack Obama. He inspires me to be a better person. I’m not trying to sway people to see things the way I do, but Obama’s words make me a better person.
I’m trying to let the youth know that getting a new iPod and upgrading your new iTune software will not create change. You have to upgrade yourself as an American citizen and take control of what’s going on. If you’re 20 or 21, this is an important time. The decisions you make today will affect the way you live 30 years from now.
It’s your duty as an American to vote and protect your America. Own your America. Don’t let someone else decide what America you live in. You decide what America you live in. In this day and age, it’s a new playing field and you have to show how powerful you are by voting. –As told to amir shaw
