Singers

Ashley Joi and Adrienne Laja are two-thirds of Irv Gotti’s new girl group. Though the group remains unnamed, the trio is still working tirelessly to prepare themselves for the journey ahead.

“We are in the studio working on our project, which is set to come [out] in spring ‘08,” Joi states. Fresh off the first season of his reality show, “Gotti’s Way,” Gotti has been working to put The Inc Records (formally Murder Inc.) back on the map in a more positive light. After submitting a demo to the label through a friend for a song entitled “Free,” Joi was immediately picked up as an artist. A search was initiated to find two more singers (Adrienne and Stephanie), who could stand alone and work well as a group.

“Irv Gotti thought it would be interesting to introduce each girl to the world individually before submitting the group,” explains group manager Donna D.

Confident in their abilities and the fact that each of them is able to hold her own as a performer, the girls are ready to show the world what they can do.

“We have a good blend,” Joi says, “Everybody brings something different to the table. When you ask us who we sound like, I can list off 20 different people. It’s real singing. [There] hasn’t been a group with as much depth since En Vogue. We’re just looking to bring pure, just really good music. We want longevity in the industry.” - janaya black
