Designer and Creator, Abstraction Dirt

Every so often a clever mind becomes disenchanted with the ordinary, and ventures to do something … extraordinary. For Chris Morris, designer and creator of the Abstraction Dirt clothing label, clothing monotony gave way to a whole new legacy of fashion design.

“Basically, the concept came from ... trying to do something different. You look at all these clothing lines [and] everybody’s doing the same thing,” he explains. “If you look at the whole market right now, everything looks the same. The name [Abstraction Dirt] came about from wanting to come out with a different label that would appeal to different people.”

Morris’ line of T-shirts, thermals and sweatshirts showcase a visually stimulating array of original designs.

“The whole line is surrounded around motorcycle clubs and their whole culture,” he states. “So, I started designing from there and just ran with it.”

While the clothing line has only officially been in circulation for three months, Morris has been able to use his entrepreneurial skills to secure advance sales with stores throughout Michigan. That strategy afforded him the opportunity to penetrate a large number of stores in a short period of time. - janaya black
