Carlton Blount’s All I Need Is One is innocuous R&B music. There are plenty of lyrics about relationships and the songs themselves have a cookie-cutter quality. That means it feels as if roughly similar musical parameters were used not only throughout each song, but from song to song. Perhaps the main exception, “Good Ole Fashion Love,” is a tad bit brighter and more energetic-feeling with its relatively retro-styled chorus. The rest feels like S.O.S.O. — the same old-same old. –forrest green III
