On-Air Personality, 95.5 The Beat
When someone thinks of Atlanta radio, pretty soon the voice they identify with will be none other than 95.5 The Beat’s CJ Simpson. As one-half of the famed “Murph Dawg & CJ in the Morning” show, Simpson has developed an undeniable bond with audiences across the metro Atlanta area, and plans to continue doing nothing less than giving her best.
“I actually think that this is something that I didn’t decide for myself,” she explains. “God had a plan for me and said, ‘OK, this is what you’re gonna do,’ and I think it’s honestly what I was supposed to do. I went to school for psychology, so I never imagined that I would be on the radio. But I think that life proves that all of your decisions are not up to you.”
A North Carolina native who spent the past five years working with Hot 107.9’s morning team, Simpson’s fun personality and competitive energy has been an asset with 95.5 The Beat’s diverse blend of listeners. “Every hip-hop station in Atlanta has a different audience,” she adds. “I think that we all share listeners as well, but I think what sets us apart is that our audience is [as] diverse as diverse can be. It’s not just one type of person that listens to our station. It’s definitely a wide range of people.” - jason thompson
