R&B/ Opera Singer

In this day and age of cookie-cutter performance artists, it's always a surprisingly refreshing experience when you encounter an artist unafraid to go against the grain of traditional musical thinking. Enter Filipino sensation Johann Michael. As the buzz continues to swirl around his critically acclaimed release, The Soulful Sounds of Johann Michael, this talented performer is determined to stay the course, blazing his own unique trail, opposite the conventional beaten path."

"My style has always been unique since day one," the performer/songwriter begins, recalling the evolution of his art form. "I only know how to be me, and so far the people have really been responding to my style. What the people seem to be starving for is someone that is genuine, and that's what I bring to the table."

The modest implication that his work has only received a mere positive response from the general public, may indeed be the understatement of the year. With his first single, "Smiling People," currently generating massive buzz, Michael is on target to place his indelible stamp on the music industry. "I want to make positive change within the industry," Michael expresses. "There are so many artists that are unafraid to just be themselves, and make good music. If I can be an example that it's okay to just be yourself, then I have done my job."

If Michael is able to maintain this seemingly predetermined course, then all indications point towards a long, fruitful career. - dewayne rogers
