This rapper from Hempstead, N.Y., claims he wants to redefine hip-hop on his minimally produced and very lengthy rap verses. The cuts, at best, exemplify a guy going all-out with his concepts. Shelah's barrage of wordplay, on cuts like "W.O.M.E.N.," "F.R.A.N.T.I.C." and "Homey Bounce," is impressive but his concepts mostly feel half-baked. His conceptual weaknesses combined with demo-quality music delimit the album from his lofty ideal of hiphop redefined. -forrest green III
