Jamie Williams Music
Saxophonist Jamie Williams has something to prove to the instrumental jazz world. His spirited horn over tough grooves and hip-hop beats is a hit-and-miss affair, with the album's first few songs coming off as generic as the smoothest of smooth jazz - with better melodic lines and catchier rhythm. "Overjoyed" is an almost perfect effort with Jennifer Hudson singing Stevie Wonder's well-known lyrics. The album ends on a stronger note, with more distinctive songs and fewer clichés. -forrest green III
