Gospel Singer

Some people walk aimlessly through life trying to find their purpose. But Deborah Stephens knew she was "called, appointed, and anointed to worship the Lord." Stephens has performed at the 1996 Olympic Games, Bishop T.D. Jakes Mega Fest, McDonald's Gospel Fest, Atlanta Festival of Trees, and Bobby Jones Gospel. She is reaching every facet of the gospel industry, even starting her own ministry called Deborah Stephens Ministries. "[With the Deborah Stephens] Ministries we go to some of the nursing homes and minister [with] music. I am also a licensed and ordained minister. In my music, I preach," says Stephens. "One of the things that I am really proud of [is] a listening party I started where local artists come out. [It's for] people that usually aren't seasoned enough to go on stage. We come together and they present their musical gifts in the format of listening to each other." Stephens currently has two albums; her first is entitled My Life Will Be Sweeter Someday and her latest is Life Symphony. It is her first album that Stephens says has special meaning to her. "At the time I went through some tragedies and didn't know that God was using me. I didn't know where I was going, what I was doing, and didn't have music as my forefront. I prayed that God would take me out of that hard place. As I began to seek Him and stay focused on Him, He kept me alive." - adrienne gadling
