Here's a "mixtape" long on rapping and short on DJ tricks. Indeed, the microphone skills exhibited by rappers Shawn Jackson, Panacea and others is a surprise to hear in this era: they're formidable! When's the last time a rapper with a record out made steps to not suck on the mike? Anyway, it's an effort that stays interesting for a long time, despite its 65-minute length. The Project rapping over Portishead's "Sour Times" on "SOB Pt. 1" is a great idea. These artists are repping hip-hop well. -forrest green III
