This über-chick flick has Julia Roberts, Sally Field and a whole bunch of other famous ladies gossiping and griping in a Southern town. Keep the Kleenex handy.

5. The Jacksons: An American Dream

Laugh if you will, but Angela Bassett’s turn as family patriarch Katherine Jackson is one of her strongest performances.

6. Mommy Dearest
Reminds Mom that while no parent is perfect, at least you weren’t this bad.

7. The Marva Collins Story
NAACP Image Award-winning actress Cicely Tyson makes dreams come true for Chicago kids who face tough odds in the inner-city school system.
