One of Houston’s brightest stars and most beloved sons before his untimely death in 2007, Big Moe was a towering figure in hip-hop. His long-awaited posthumous album, Unfinished Business, is a strong swan song for the fallen rapper. The rabble-rousing “Big M.O.E.” has an added resonance, while the upbeat “Love It Man” and “Jammin’ For the South” are infectious slices of H-Town swagger. The unfortunately-titled “Pill Poppa” notwithstanding, Unfinished Business is a fitting epithet for an underappreciated Southern son. -dusty culpepper
