Gene Harris of The Three Sounds got his start in jazz during the '50s, but this album was recorded in 1996 with the pianist's British quartet. Harris, along with bassist Andrew Cleyndert, drummer Martin Drew and guitarist Jim Mullen, achieve an electric synergy here. The band is in top form. The album is taken from previously unreleased tapes belonging to Harris' widow Janie and worth the effort of release. -forrest green III
