cassandra’s dream
The Weinstein Company
So it's been about a year since legendary filmmaker Woody Allen's Scoop was released, and he's got a new one already. Cassandra's Dream shows some earmarks of a rushed film: an almost unnecessary opening sequence and rough editing that does next to nothing to build momentum. Still, there's a potent moral film here involving two London brothers (played by Ewan McGregor and Colin Farrell), who are asked by a relative to do something immoral. An attractive woman comes into the situation to complicate matters between the brothers. An interesting characteristic of Woody's newest is its similarity to 2005's Match Point (also by Allen). One could perhaps call this a copy with humor. - forrest green III
