An angry ex-con butts heads with a mobster in the entertaining Revolver. Gambler and con man Jake Green (Jason Statham) is looking for a little payback. Recently released from prison after serving a seven-year sentence, Green sets out to find the nefarious underworld figure Dorothy Macha (Ray Liotta) and exact some revenge for his extended big house ‘vacation.’ After Green publicly humiliates him, Macha sends his enforcers to silence Green permanently. Luckily, Green has a pair of protectors (AndrĂ© Benjamin and Vincent Pastore) looking out for him. Commendable performances by all, in what is a uniquely idiosyncratic take on the revenge/gangster film. - dusty culpepper
