The Saunders family is having a pretty miserable Christmas. They’ve just moved to a new city from Los Angeles and have no money, no friends, and no Christmas spirit. Since Mom is stranded back in L.A. due to airline overbookings, the shopping duties go to dad and the kids. Twelve-year old Brian and six-year old Mary find a bag full of money. What happens next is amusing, as the family members get involved in fighting crime and making a discovery about Santa Claus. Writers Wanda Birdsong Shope and Jim Cruickshank and writer-director James Orr have cobbled together a non-offending movie — aside from a bit of rude language, this is ideal fun for families. -forrest green III
