When initially released, Captivity was quickly thrown into the newly created movie genre appropriately called 'Torture Porn,' movies that give you maximum gore with minimal plot. Captivity doesn't quite match the visceral punch of Hostel, but it does have its moments. The plot is simple. A beautiful, top model (Elisha Cuthbert) is drugged and kidnapped by a sadistic psychopath, who of course, to our delight, subjects her to all kinds of sick and twisted mind games. To keep things interesting, there are a few minor plot twists sprinkled throughout the movie. Unfortunately, most true horror fans will see the inevitable coming from a mile away. That said; Captivity is still a fun way to spend 90 minutes. -dark abyss
