"My Name Is Earl" is the funniest thing to hit television since that Raising Arizona rerun. The series stars Jason Lee as Earl J. Hickey, a petty crook whose newly-won $100,000 lottery ticket is lost when he is hit by a car. As he lies in a hospital bed following the accident, Earl gains an intense belief in karma after hearing about it during an episode of "Last Call with Carson Daly." He then decides he wants to turn his life around and atone for his wrongdoings. In many ways, "Earl" is reminiscent of the Coens' Raising Arizona for its rural flavor, its cast of misfits and its wild, unruly sense of humor. - forrest green III
