Actress, Heaven Forbid(s)!
As a child, Rhianna Mack would often perform impromptu shows during family gatherings. Although her shows were once a form of childhood recreation, Mack eventually fell in love with performing arts and began to pursue it as a career.
After appearing in several commercials and the Lifetime movie Life Is Not A Fairytale: The Fantasia Barrino Story, Mack became a rising star in film and theatre.
Mack is starring in the Martice Enterprise play Heaven Forbid(s)! with Marco Rodriguez. The play, which takes place at the Ice House Cultural Center in Dallas, explores the afterlife and individuals who are forced to exist in purgatory.
While Mack enjoys acting, she confesses that her profession has a downside for which many new actors aren't prepared.
"Auditions are nerve-wracking, but it's something that you have to do," says Mack. "All-day shoots can be tiring and you also have to be able to deal with different personalities."
Mack also discusses the financial burden many actors can face if they don't manage their money correctly.
"It's important for actors to save their money," she says. "People assume that you have money because you act, but a lot of acting jobs happen in cycles. You can get paid nice off of one gig and not get work for a long time."
Despite the potential pitfalls of the business, Mack is ecstatic about her chosen profession.
"I've always wanted to be an artist or entertainer," she says. "Acting is a great networking opportunity and it allows you to express yourself."
