John Travolta, Tim Allen, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macy play a bunch of friends in the midst of their midlife crises: Doug (Allen) isn't the fun guy he used to be, Woody (Travolta) has lost just about everything, Dudley (Macy) has nothing to begin with, and Bobby (Lawrence) is not able to run his own home. The four decide to relive the glory days of college by riding off on their motorbikes across the country. One wonders if they can reach California in four easy pieces, and when the infamous biker gang Del Fuegos crosses paths with them, things get hairy. This is a surprisingly well-cast movie with a wide range of laughs. -forrest green III
