Executive Producer & Co-Host, "Critics In Black"

Tired of seeing the dreams and aspirations of young people fall to the wayside due to financial difficulties and lack of support, Howard Tullman felt it was time to create an institution that would make a difference. As the president and CEO of Chicago's Flashpoint Academy, Tullman has established a school that provides a two-year program in the digital areas of film, sound, computer animation and game development.

"We think that a lot of folks don't want to go to a four-year school if they're particularly interested in video, music or game technology. We're developing essentially a direct-to-industry two-year program that allows them to get the skills that they need and build a portfolio and credentials so they can go right into the work force," explains Tullman, whose previous successes include stints as the president of Kendall College and conceptualizing Web sites for Rolling Stone and The Source magazines.

"We're dealing with a lot of different talented kids that don't have a good place to go where they can get the skills that will let them get jobs in these industries," says Tullman.

With the doors of the learning institution opening September 17, Tullman plans to implement programs in other major cities giving young people with potential an opportunity to grow and see their dreams materialize.
