This film is about two firefighters in Brooklyn who step into an awkward situation. One of the guys, Larry Allensworth (Kevin James), is a single dad raising two children. His friend, Chuck Ford (Adam Sandler), is a hard-core playboy. Larry worries that he could die at anytime and wants to make sure his kids will be alright. Finding a loophole in the system, Larry asks Chuck to be his domestic partner. There’s a lot of humor having to do with Chuck and Larry’s sexuality, and even though it’s simplistic humor, it’s funny. Eventually, it gets out that the guys are a couple, and when they defend themselves, they defend gay people in general. - forrest green III
