hiya, kids!! a’50s saturday morning
Shout Factory
This engaging collection takes viewers back to a time when kids really — and I mean really — got into Saturday morning television. There was no PlayStation or Xbox, just a little black and white television and a bunch of kids. Comprised of four DVDs, the collection begins with one of the earliest kiddie shows, “Kukla, Fran and Ollie” and follows up with favorites such as “Flash Gordon,” “The Roy Rogers Show” and “The Cisco Kid.” My personal favorite is “Sheena, Queen of the Jungle.” Created by the great Will Eisner (who also created “The Spirit”), Sheena presented a feminized, sexed up version of Tarzan. Hiya, Kids!! is perfect for grown folks who wish to experience these classic shows again. -dark abyss
