“Medabots” is a kid’s anime show that originally aired on Fox Kids circa 2001. A product of the Pokemon craze, “Medabots” is actually one of the better Pokemon clones to have been released. “Medabots” follows the adventures of Ikki, a youngster with dreams of battling robots in the World Robattle tournament. He comes across an old broken down robot which he names Metabee, and soon Ikki and Metabee embark on a number of adventures to battle every manner of evil. The DVD set contains 26 episodes running at a total time of nearly 10 hours. That’s a lot of robattling to keep you happy. Now all this sounds like a good deal, but there a few things that may have true fans scratching their heads. For some reason, there are three episodes missing from this DVD set, so you should take the claim “complete” with a grain of salt. Also, the only extra in this DVD set is an episode of “Oban Star Racers,” which is a little disappointing. But if you can live with these two glitches, go for it. “Medabots” is still a lot of fun.
