unnatural causes: is inequality making us sick?
PBS
This four-hour documentary series explores data that suggests that socioeconomic status, lack of access to health care and contaminated environs influence health and longevity as much as (and sometimes more than) any pathogen. A “health gradient” connected to wealth is explored, which reveals that people at the bottom of society’s economic ladder are sicker and tend to die sooner. The series investigates these quality of life dynamics in various social settings.
