Who cares if this movie brought 2008 Razzie Award nominations for both Jessica Alba (Worst Actress) and both Alba and her co-star Hayden Christensen (Worst Screen Couple)? In actuality, Awake isn’t all that bad. Christensen plays Clay Beresford, a man who discovers that his doctors have ulterior motives for his life when he develops anesthetic awareness during a major heart operation. Terrence Howard gives a strong performance as Dr. Jack Harper, the surgeon, who may or may not have his patient and good friend’s interest in mind. If anything, this movie has enough plot twists to keep you plugged in, regardless of Alba and Christensen’s sometimes defective acting skills.
